Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
I'm Anne Vally: a San Francisco maker, artist, knitter and believer in the common good. I create patterns for knitwear, hand-dye yarn, and make my own clothes.
My Sunday letter is a peek into my creative practice and yarn business, Little Skein, and how I use knitting, sewing and hand-making to slow down, counter balance consumer culture, and center equity. I often talk about my progressive politics, the economics of running a small business, and how to support our well-being in a world that commodifies our attention and pushes so many folks to the margins.
I am deeply curious about how things work and how to make them better, and I delight in sharing what I’m learning. I am passionate about hand-making. I believe that making things by hand is an art and that making connects us to the very best feeling of being alive.
My Sunday letter is free, and every new edition goes directly to your inbox.
Thanks for being here! I hope we get into good trouble together.
