Thank you for such a nice post. Also, I am on the last season of Friday Night Lights - I am not sure why I have been so late to watch it. I am raising a teenager and the show hits all of the “feels.” I loved Parenthood and love Ted Lasso and now this! Somehow your newsletters were going to my junk mail folder - I need to solve this problem!!!!
Another Ted Lasso fan here, and I'll put Parenthood on my list. I also have a teenager and I love how Friday Night Lights is both helping me be a bit more compassionate toward my teen (so.many.feelings!) and also giving me that parental commiseration, as Coach & Tami deal with their own surly teen!
Parenthood is older but it helped me as a person and a therapist with kids - I know that sounds weird, but it was really good! Any other shows you like? ( : It seems like we are on a similar path with raising teens and finding some support or validation as we relax with a show. I am trying to think of the name of another series that was really good - a few of the main characters were deaf and the main girls had been switched at birth - it was really good, too, but older.... Oh, I looked it up, "Switched at Birth" is the name of it. ( : It's another one that shows some of the teen angst. I know some people are watching Euphoria but it is too dark for me based on where I am in my life right now. I still like to bury my head in the sand a bit more (and knit). I am currently housing a project in a bag I got from you years ago - a "Goodnight Moon" theme - always one of my favorite bags!
That caregiving article sure hit home! Ding ding ding! I stayed home with my children, they were the better for it, yes it was an economic sacrifice. Not easy and not appreciated by my spouse. Looking back those days were the best of my life. We had great adventures and boring days, both fondly remembered by my adult children now. Finally at long last I’m to be a Grammy in the months ahead, a long awaited child by me and my son and daughter-in-law. I’ve already been asked to make one of my learning books for this baby, to knit as much as I want to for the baby as it will be much appreciated, and when they need to return to work to share watching this precious child with another grandparent. I so wish/hope that I can do this. I live an hour away.

Oh how I love that fabric! (I call it Stargazer, but yes, Goodnight Moon themed!). Another teen show I've enjoyed: Love, Victor on Hulu.

I'm so glad you liked the article, and congratulations on getting to sink into that new baby love!
