For those in San Francisco and the Bay Area, if you have yarn you cannot use or plan to unravel a knit item, consider donating to SCRAP which upcycles tons of arts and craft supplies for creative use by teachers, artists and crafters at their warehouse. Check it out at https://www.scrap-sf.org/. A big yarn sale is coming up July 25-27!

I’ve donated to Scrap before and bought stuff there too. It’s an amazing place!

This is so lovely. Do you think it will be a somewhat regular occurrence? Perhaps twice a year or quarterly?

Can it work for those of us in UK?

YES!!! Because the recipient pays shipping, it will work for folks in the US to claim a UK item, or for UK folks to claim a US item!

For future iterations, maybe a way to gift shipping of our item, if we’re in a position to do so, or to gift into a shipping pool? My heart is so happy for this swap. 💗💗💗

You have the sweetest heart, my friend. I'll ponder how to make this happen.

Brilliant! I’ve found a shawl and a cowl right off the bat. Thank you for organizing!!!

I love this idea. I don’t have anything to offer since I just started garment knitting this year. I’ve knitted socks almost exclusively for many years, and those have been for family, mostly my husband. I was afraid of garments having some spectacular failures! But this year was the “give it go” year.

I will be happy to look at what others have to offer.

I love that you might be a new home for a sweater! And also that you are trying out garment knitting!

I love this as so many things we make are special and we can't put a price on it. gifting it values its special nature and prevents it from being all about the money.

When I was selling yarn a lot (destashing) I just put shipping included, and then added a little to the price I was charging to cover part of the shipping expense.
