This is almost exactly how MIL taught me to make ginger syrup. :) Except for the fizz part. We used to squeeze few lemons when the syrup is warm and then store it. Absolutely forgotten about this one though. Thank you for all these joyful reminders Anne.

We have a similar heatwave here in the UK. Sweltering in jeans and boots as I sip my PSL. But putting on my autumn/winter uniform is a little like taking my bra off when I get home from a busy day - it's a one-way process that cannot be reversed :)

While I *am* looking forward to Rhinebeck, I also 100% agree that the small things make the biggest difference. I've been waking up at sunrise and standing on my back deck alone with a warm drink every morning for over a month now, and it's been so rewarding. I didn't realize how important having a calm ritual to start my day was to me until I started doing it. I can't imagine going back now.

As always, I do feel seen and understood by your Sunday messages. They are a welcome sweet note to my week. Thank you for that!

So, you make your own ginger syrup too! Another thing we have in common!

Here in Canada we are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend. It is the first since both my parents died and will be just our foursome with one son travelling to join us. Bittersweet for sure. Cultivating gratitude brings me peace and joy.

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I have family in Canada and I really enjoyed seeing all their family photos from the day.

I'll have to try your recipe for ginger syrup, how I love ginger! My favorite habit is probably the ritual of making my coffee every morning, grinding the beans and brewing it. And drinking it of course!

This would probably be my favourite too. It's a small daily ritual that I'd be totally lost without.

It was hot here in Illinois until Saturday when it turned windy, rainy, and cold. I made the first cup of hot cocoa for the fall and cupped my hands around my Peanuts mug. I got out my sweats, snuggled with my dogs, and we napped to the sound of a gentle rain. It was lovely.

The lavender yarn is sumptuous. And add me to the list of those who want to try the finer syrup and ginger ale. Thank you for that.

JANE! We truly are kindred spirits. I love the feeling of a fall rain and a nap with snuggly dog(s). Wonderful indeed!

I think I would like to try your ginger recipe as well! One really tiny thing I did for myself yesterday was to go home early from work because of ankle pain. I have almost never left work early, unless a family member is ill. Also, I sleep with the fan on last night.

I am so glad for you Lisa! I hope your ankle pain is easing, and that you are able to put yourself first. You are worth it.
