I am so impressed by your teens response to all the "funny" memes... he is rightly looking at the real issues behind all that. I believe making jokes about serious issues is insensitive and wrong.... and not funny.
Thanks for sharing! I do enjoy reading and try to support you by purchasing yarn and patterns when I can. I am trying to remain calm while these ridiculous claims about various things are being made. Praying that reality and common sense along with deligent research prevails.
I also love voting. As a black queer woman, it makes me feel so powerful! I remember voting for Obama and standing with my neighborhood at the fire station at 6:30 am, waiting for the polls to open. It was a potent moment standing with all those other black faces, some old, some young, like college-aged self, ready to “flex our patriotism”! I'm thrilled he will finally experience this joy himself.
What a beautiful portrait! I remember the night he won and all the people in Chicago, tears streaming down their faces (tears streaming down mine at home). So powerful.

I was reminded recently of Emily Dickenson's poem "Hope is a thing with feathers". Always a good read when you need encouragement to hope.

I appreciate you and every single way that you support my work and just simply are here in my community! Thank you for being here!
Thank you for this today. My depression went south this weekend and I now remember that I'll be fine once I'm knitting.
Thank you for making this a safe space!
Good on you for nourishing the get out and vote theme of our critical times! Nothing is more important. Well accept for not dropping any stitches! 🙂

Indiana turned blue on the map, and J and I lost our minds sitting on the sofa in my mother's living room.
