A few years ago I saw some of a friend's art online and bought a pretty blue and yellow print with a phrase from a Morgan Harper Nichols poem: "She will not worry/ She will be just fine/ She will be brave in this new season/ One day at a time." I tucked it away, and never got it framed. Then in 2022, after my husband died, this print magically showed up as I was putting the bedroom back to how it was before his illness. The project I am facing right now is not a knitting project, but sewing a pair of pants in efforts to create a more self made wardrobe. The pants looked great....until I tried them on. They're too big. I took my measurements and followed the pattern, so I was SO disappointed at first. But I am ready now to undo the waistband, take them in and correct the fit so that I can wear them. Thanks for this. I just discovered you on instagram not long ago, and I am enjoying finding resonance. I also live in San Francisco!

Anne this arrived at the perfect time. Being in this industry as a designer can make it feel like we have to be constantly producing and racing to release patterns. My process is slow, knitting is slow and for me that's how it should be. We can use these talents to create our own slower bubble in a world that wants us to always hustle.

The resonates with me! I’m knitting a sweater and 3 times I’ve had to rip out a significant amount of knitting. Fortunately, I am a process knitter. Ripping back means I get to re-enjoy knitting my project!
