I find that so many knitting spaces are dominated by white women who demand "no politics," which is often a proxy for maga-style beliefs. Whenever I get an influx of new subscribers (like I did over the last couple of days), I have to restate that particular aside, just to be sure we're all on the same page. Cause the internet be interneting!
My son gifted me a yarn subscription a few years ago and I've been a subscriber and customer ever since. I just love your writing because it resonates so strongly with me. Happy to support your work!
I don’t remember the exact path to you, but I followed Twitter refugees to Substack (most notably Heather Cox Richardson and Louise Tilbrook). So either through Louise or looking for knitters.
Am I losing it or did you change the name of this Substack?
You're not losing it!! I put the story of the name change in the email only version. I've felt for a while that the old name wasn't quite right, but I couldn't think of a better name. And then I finally just settled on the thought to perhaps keep it simple. Also, having the exact word "Knit" in my publication name helps people find me. 🤷🏻♀️ Simple is best, sometimes!
I love your new title as well as your words - they really resonate with me. I also appreciate your "aside." Thank you! It's good to take a stand.

I think I will take your lead!
