Thank you for normalizing talking about cooking as a hard labor. I use the very same word to describe it. Also thanks for the bits of yarn wisdom.

Holding you close during your difficult time. Your words are excellent on this subject. I lost my husband 2 years ago, and I spent quite a bit of time knitting socks. It allowed me to feel like I was productive and let me basically shut my brain down to all the pain.

I'm currently knitting a baby blanket and struggling through the start of winter blues and a migraine that is going on 6 days. This is such a beautiful reminder for me to tlbe graceful with myself and pull out my knitting needles.

I'm a knitting beginner and started to try and soothe my anxiety, it's been amazing. I'm in the middle of a scarf and I don't want it to end ... It is going to be enormous 😂

So much great advice here. Knitting has seen me through all kinds of difficult times and long may it continue to do so.

It is amazing to me how often these posts just match what is going on in my life! Sometimes in big ways, sometimes small.

This week I responded out loud when reading about how much work it is to feed ourselves! (In my house it is one human and two cats.) It’s a lot of time, mental energy, and labor (not to mention cost) to keep us all fed. I just went through an extra busy time at work and I leaned into prepared meals. At the same time, I felt like I had to defend that decision to myself & others. I’m still struggling with how to be gentle with myself when it comes to eating.

This is also a good reminder, as the days get shorter, that it is ok to do less.

Yes, This is such a great point isn't it and really resonated with me too. It reminded me of during the pandemic when the act of buying, planning and preparing food was even more of a chore, with no respite from takeaway options.
